sip:luvjtjd3aor.sip.livekit.cloud· domain (withoutsip:)luvjtjd3aor.sip.livekit.cloud· transport TCP · inbound calls only (outbound calls over your own number aren't available yet). Full reference: Use your own phone number with SIP.
At a glance
| Direction | Inbound: Telnyx sends calls to Kollie |
| Connection type | FQDN SIP Connection, SRV record, no port |
| Number format | +E.164 |
Before you start
- An active Telnyx account with a purchased phone number.
- Access to SIP Connections in the Telnyx Mission Control Portal.
- A Kollie agent that is already set up.
Part 1: Add your number in Kollie
- Add the number
- Go to My Numbers → Add Your Number.
- Select the country and enter your Telnyx number. Then click Add.
- Attach it to an agent
- Attach the number to the agent that should answer. See Step 1 of the overview.
- Note Kollie's SIP domain
- In Telnyx you enter Kollie's SIP domain without
sip::luvjtjd3aor.sip.livekit.cloud
- In Telnyx you enter Kollie's SIP domain without
Part 2: Set up Telnyx
- Create the SIP Connection
- Go to Voice → SIP Connections → Add SIP Connection.
- Name it, for example
kollie, and choose FQDN as the connection type.
- Add the Kollie domain
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| FQDN | luvjtjd3aor.sip.livekit.cloud (no sip:) |
| Record type | SRV |
| Port | leave empty |
Don't add a port. Telnyx only does an SRV lookup when no port is given. If you add one (for example :5060), Telnyx does an A-record lookup instead, and calls may not route correctly. See Telnyx's documentation on how it handles SRV records.
-
Configure the inbound settings
In the connection's Inbound section:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Number format (called and calling) | +E.164 |
| Transport protocol | TCP |
| SIP region | Europe (Kollie runs in Amsterdam, so this keeps the call path short) |
| Codecs | Only the codecs Telnyx recommends in the interface |
+E.164 sends the number with the + and the country code (for example +49301234567). Kollie needs this format to match the call to your number card.
-
Link your number
Under Numbers or My Numbers, select your number and attach it to the new connection. Without this step, Telnyx doesn't know where to deliver calls to that number.
Test checklist
Call your Telnyx number from another phone:
- The agent attached to the number answers.
- The caller's real number appears in Agent Calls History.
- Audio works in both directions.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| Calls don't reach Kollie | The connection is enabled and of type FQDN · the domain is complete and has no sip: · record type is SRV · no port is set · transport and region are correct · the number is linked to this connection |
| Call reaches Kollie but nobody answers | The number on the Kollie card matches the Telnyx number exactly · the Agent row on the card shows an agent · numbers arrive in +E.164 |
| Numbers arrive in the wrong format | In the inbound settings, set both DNIS and ANI to +E.164. Correct: +436641234567. Wrong: 436641234567 or 06641234567. |
| No audio, or audio in one direction only | Use only the codecs Telnyx recommends · check transport and region · make sure your network isn't blocking Telnyx media · note whether it happens on every call or only some |
