Connect a Yeastar P-Series phone system to a Kollie AI agent. The agent answers calls that Yeastar routes to it, and can transfer callers back to extensions, queues or ring groups.
Works with the Yeastar P-Series Cloud, Software and Hardware editions.
Kollie SIP details: SIP URI
sip:luvjtjd3aor.sip.livekit.cloud· domain (withoutsip:)luvjtjd3aor.sip.livekit.cloud· transport TCP · inbound calls only (outbound calls over your own number aren't available yet). Full reference: Use your own phone number with SIP.
At a glance
| Trunk type | Peer Trunk (number based), no registration |
| Yeastar → Kollie | An inbound route or overflow destination set to External Number |
| Kollie → Yeastar | Call Transfer via SIP REFER (blind transfer) |
Before you start
- Administrator access to the Yeastar system.
- A Kollie agent that is already set up.
- The number the agent should answer on, for example your business number.
- Software and Hardware editions: a publicly reachable FQDN for your Yeastar system. You only need this for transfers back to Yeastar.
Part 1: Add your number in Kollie
-
Add and attach the number
- Go to My Numbers → Add Your Number.
- Select the country and enter the number. Then click Add.
- Attach the number to the agent that should answer. See Step 1 of the overview.
Use exactly this number, in E.164 format, wherever Yeastar asks for the Kollie destination below.
Part 2: Build the trunk in Yeastar
-
Add a peer trunk
Go to Extension and Trunk → Trunk → Add and choose Peer Trunk (number based):
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | for example kollie |
| Transport | TCP |
| Hostname / Domain | luvjtjd3aor.sip.livekit.cloud (no sip:) |
Enter the hostname, not an IP address. The IP address behind the domain can change.
-
Enable keep-alive and transfers
On the trunk, open Advanced → VoIP settings and enable:
- Qualify, so Yeastar checks that the trunk is reachable.
- Support SIP REFER, so the agent can transfer calls back to Yeastar.
If Yeastar asks which destinations SIP REFER may reach, allow at least Internal Number.
Click Save, then Apply if the button is shown. After a moment, the trunk status turns green. For a peer trunk, green means Yeastar can reach Kollie (via SIP OPTIONS). It does not mean the trunk has registered.
Part 3: Send calls to Kollie
Yeastar dials External Number destinations through your outbound routes. Make sure an outbound route sends the Kollie number over the Kollie trunk.
Then choose one or both of the options below.
4a. Send all calls on a number to Kollie (inbound route)
Go to Call Control → Inbound Route → Add:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | for example To Kollie AI |
| Trunk | Your incoming PSTN trunk, not the Kollie trunk |
| DID pattern | The number or extension the calls arrive on |
| Default destination | External Number |
| External number | The number on your Kollie number card |
Click Save and then Apply.
4b. Use Kollie as a fallback (overflow)
Your team rings first, and the agent takes over only when nobody is available. Set the destination to External Number (the Kollie number) on any of these:
- queue overflow
- ring group destination
- an extension's no-answer or away destination
- outside business hours
Example: during office hours, the sales ring group rings first. If nobody picks up, the Kollie agent takes the call and records a callback request.
Part 4: Transfer calls back to Yeastar
-
Add transfer destinations in Kollie
In the agent's Call Transfer skill, add one entry for each internal destination.
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| Name | Sales |
| Destination | 200@company.ras.yeastar.com (format: INTERNAL_NUMBER@YEASTAR_DOMAIN) |
| Description | When to route here, for example "The caller explicitly wants to speak to someone from sales." |
Which Yeastar domain to use:
- Cloud Edition: your Yeastar cloud domain.
- Software and Hardware editions: the FQDN under Network → FQDN.
A destination can be a user, extension, queue, ring group, conference room or any other internal Yeastar target.
-
Get the routing right
Kollie handles a transfer as two separate decisions:
- Whether to transfer is set in the agent's Main Objective, for example "If the caller asks for a person, transfer the call."
- Where to transfer is decided by each destination's Description.
If calls go to the wrong team, sharpen the Descriptions. If the agent never transfers, fix the Main Objective. Keep each Description specific, because vague ones cause early or wrong transfers.
Transfers are blind (SIP REFER): the agent hands the call over without checking whether the destination is free.
Test checklist
Inbound route
- Call the public number that arrives on your PSTN trunk.
- The inbound route applies, and the agent answers.
- The call appears in Agent Calls History.
Overflow
- Let the queue or ring group ring without answering.
- The agent takes over once the ring time runs out.
Transfer back
- Ask the agent to transfer you.
- The correct internal extension rings, and the conversation continues after the handover.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| The trunk isn't green | Peer trunk type · correct transport · hostname is luvjtjd3aor.sip.livekit.cloud, without sip: and not an IP address · Qualify is enabled · changes were saved and applied · Yeastar can resolve the hostname via DNS · no firewall is blocking |
| The agent doesn't answer | The external number matches the Kollie number card exactly, including + · an outbound route sends that number over the Kollie trunk · the inbound route uses the PSTN trunk · the DID pattern is right · the number card shows an agent · changes were applied |
| Transfer back fails | Support SIP REFER is enabled · internal numbers are allowed as REFER targets · the extension exists · the destination uses the right Yeastar domain |
| The wrong destination rings | The internal number in the destination · each destination's Description · overlapping Descriptions · the extension, ring group and queue mapping in Yeastar |
